Halloween Claymations Workshop with Dougal Dixon

Learn how to create and animate clay models in this spooky Halloween workshop.

When resting from his day job as a science writer and evening job as Head of Projection at the Rex Cinema, Dougal spends much of his time making films - particularly animated films.

At the age of 14 he sold his train set to buy his first 8mm camera, and started to animate clay dinosaurs.

While working in London he did much animation on 16mm with the prestigious Finchley Cine Society. In 1982 he worked as consultant and animator on the educational video DINOSAURS, FUN FACT AND FANTASY (Google it!).

Since 1987 he has been a member of the REX cinema team, and for the past eight years has channelled his animation capabilities into the intros and local advertisements that are on the screen every evening.
