"It was the best week of my summer holiday" Peter Taytor aged 12 said after he and 23 other Swanage middle school pupils met to make 3 short films run by the newly created Purbeck Film Academy.

'Summer Nights' Drive-in Hit!

CARS packed into a park-and-ride near Corfe Castle for a Purbeck film festival innovation - a sell-out summer-nights drive-in movie showing.

The £10-a-car night was held at the Norden park-and-ride - which links up with the Swanage steam railway station there - and featured the classic movie musical depiction of the 1950s drive-in heyday in Grease, the 1978 film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. The audience watched the movie on a full size cinema screen and listened to the soundtrack through their car radios.
