Exhibition on Screen is the award-winning production company that brings the worldโs best-loved art to audiences around the globe. โฏInspired by theย Ashmoleanโsโฏ2021 blockbuster exhibition,โฏTokyo: Art & Photography, the latest release captures the exhibition for the big screen, and features interviews with contemporary artists, curators and footage shot on location in Tokyo. Tokyo Stories spans 400 years of incredibly dynamic art - ranging from the delicate woodblock prints of Hokusai and Hiroshige, to Pop Art posters, contemporary photography, Manga, film, and brand-new artworks that were created on the streets. The film uses the exhibition as a launchpad to travel to Tokyoย itself, andย explore the art and artists of the city more fully.
Get exclusive first-look at the Russell-Cotes upcoming exhibition:ย Edo Women: Japanese Prints 1820โ1900
This exhibition showcases a striking collection of prints designed, handโprinted, and originally sold in the city of Edo (modernโday Tokyo). Together, they illuminate the lives of Japanese women across a transformative era in the nationโs history.ย From mythical creatures to samurai, from working women to the empress of Japan, these works reveal the diverse roles and experiences of women during a time of profound social change as Japan moved away from its feudal past.

About Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum
Located in Bournemouth, the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum is a historic house and art gallery on Bournemouthโs East Cliff, overlooking the sea. Completed in 1901, this dream house was given by Sir Merton Russell-Cotes to his wife Annie for her 66th birthday. Called East Cliff Hall, the house was an extraordinary, extravagant birthday present, and Annie and Merton filled their exotic seaside villa with beautiful objects from their travels across the world, and lined the walls with a remarkable collection of British art, creating a unique atmosphere in a most dramatic setting.
