Winner of the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Fjord is a powerful social drama that explores faith, family, and moral responsibility. Renate Reinsve delivers another outstanding performance as the mother of a devout Christian family who relocates from Romania to a remote Norwegian village with their five children. When the school becomes suspicious, the community begins to question the family’s beliefs and way of life, and they are forced to defend their values under intense scrutiny. This challenging and provocative film refuses easy answers and is sure to cause debate after a viewing.
