In this comedy drama, Brendon Fraser (Philips) plays a worker for a company in Japan that rents people who fill in a role in someone’s life, such as a family member or a mourner at a funeral. He soon begins to form real life connections with his clients, and when he takes on the role of a young girl’s father he struggles to separate his personal feelings from his work.
